What Is Integrated Circuit ( I C ) And Its Types

What is Integrated Circuit - IC

Integrated Circuit

  What is Integrated Circuit

If you are interested in electrical, then you must have opened some electrical appliance such as radio, television or telephone. Inside these, you get to see a PCB Circuit Board in which different small and big comnents of electrical are installed. But in the meantime, you also get a black IC (what is an integrated circuit), which we call an integrated circuit. Integrated circuit is also known as IC chip or micro chip which is the time of an electronic circuit mounted on a semiconductor material (Silicon) which we call IC (integrated circuit). Inside this small circuit Many small transistors are installed. Due to which its sizepo becomes very small and its working speed increases and the consumption of electricity in it is also reduced.

Invention Of Integrated Circuit

The integrated circuit was invented by Jack Kilby on 12 September 1958. Its patent or rather, its license was given to him in February 1959. For this invention, he was given the Nobel price in 2000. After this, further changes were made to the integrated IC and it was made much better today. We get to see job integrated circuits, millions of transistors are used in it and their size is also very small, so today we have so little Laptop size. If we talk about any electrical equipment of today, it is very small and consumes less power, which is the reason for the integrated circuit. This post is going to tell you about.

Advantages of Integrated Circuits

Integrated circuit has many advantages. Integrated circuit has brought a lot of change in the electrical sector. The number of electrical appliances that have been used has become much faster and less power efficient, besides many more advantages. Whose list is given below.

1. Small Size

The size of the integrated circuit is very small and many more circuits have been installed inside this small integrated circuit. Because of this it takes very little space in any device and does a lot of work.

2. Low Cost

Very expensive machines are used to make integrated circuits, but due to the large quantities made, their cost is reduced. Due to which you can easily get it at any shop in the market and it is quite cheap.

 3. High Reliability

There is no reason whatsoever inside the integrated circuit. And neither any kind of soldering is done, hence the power consumption inside it is also low and hence the reliability of IC circuit is high.

4. Less power consumption

Due to its small size, it also reduces power consumption. Why there is no bar of any kind inside Kiss. It only has electric components, due to which it uses less power. Where the old devices used to use more power because they had much larger components for switching, but inside the integrated circuit we need to switch The work is achieved by transistors. Due to which, this work is also done very fast and by consuming less energy.

5. High speed

Whose size is very small and it works very fast due to Parasitic Capacitance.

Integrated circuits are used today in every electronic device where it is used as much as possible. So that the size of the device can be made as small as possible. Mainly it is used on mobile phones, personal computers, microcomputer-based printers, industrial robots, automobiles, cloth sewing machines, video games, cameras, electronic clocks, making electronic locks. Is done for.

Types of Integrated Circuits

Integrated circuits are divided into a few categories, such as digital analog or mixed integrated circuits, they are placed in different categories due to the way they work. Which is explained to you better below.

1.Digital Integrated Circuits

Digital Integrated Circuits are made for certain purposes and they work only to a certain extent, to make them Digital Logic Gates, Multiplexers, Flip Flops and some other electronic components are installed. And this logic gate works only on the basis of binary input or digital input data such as 0 or 1. There are also many types of digital IC or digital integrated circuits such as:
  1. Programmable IC
  2. Memory Chips, Logic IC
  3. Power Management IC
  4. Interface IC

2.Analog Integrated Circuits

An integrated circuit that works on a continuous signal is called an analog integrated circuit. Analog Integrated Circuit is also divided into two parts, Linear IC and Linear IC and Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits (RF IC). The frequencies used by analog integrated circuits are called Operational Amplifier or Op-Amp. A very small amount of transistors are used inside this integrated circuit while a large number of transistors are used inside digitally integrated circuits.

3.Mixed Integrated Circuits

Inside this integrated circuit both analog integrated circuits and digital integrated circuits are used. This is used to convert analog to digital and digital to analog signals.

4. Logic Circuits

This IC works on binary input data just like a digital integrated circuit. This IC is mostly used as a decision-making IC, such as what to do if the data is found on the 5 number pin of an IC and what to do if you get the data on the six number PIN.

5. Switching IC

Switching IC are used for switching operations. This IC will be used in any device where switching work will be very high.

6.Audio Amplifiers

Wherever audio input or audio output is used, it is used in equipment such as television radio. The audio signal is always amplified in these devices, so you can amplify the audio signal using this IC.

7.Timer IC - IC 555

Timer IC - IC 555

Timer IC is used to make any circuit work on any time basis. This timer IC is made of two types NE 555 and SE 555. Of these, NE 555 is used in almost all devices. Because its temperature range is from 00C to 700C. SE 555 is used for military and its temperature range is from -550C to 1250C. Timer IC is used to make many more devices because it is very simple and a good working IC.

In this post, you have been given complete information about the integrated circuit, what is the function of the integrated circuit and what is its type and if it is of any type, if you want to know more about it, then comment below.
